Ages 6-10 and 11-14

Forest Co-Op is designed to enhance the holistic homeschooling experience for children ages 6-14. This forest school style co-op introduces unique skills each semester, while also spending a large part of the day in hands-on nature study and outdoor play with other children.

The Forest School Co-Op currently meets every Wednesday during our VFS operating months from 9:00 am - 2:30 pm and is a drop off program. 100% of the children's time is spent learning outdoors.

Beginning September 2020, Co-Op will operate on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Children may attend one or both days.

Nature study and forest exploration is a part of every co-op class. Nature study topics include plant identification, weather patterns, foraging, insect identification and observation, rock study, animal tracks, birding, flower identification, ecological biodiversity, and environmental stewardship. The topics below supplement the nature study.
