All Farm Camps through Valley Forest School are led by Outdoor Educators who have been through rigorous training and are well educated on the topics of camp.

FINCASTLE, VA FARM SUMMER CAMPS
June 5-June 8- Art on the Farm Camp
Time: 9 am- 2:30 pm
Location: Farm School, Fincastle, VA
Ages: 5-12
Cost: $285
Art on the Farm Camp is for those who want to use their artistic side- the natural way on the farm! Campers will make their own art supplies from nature, create painted masterpieces with various organic inks, dye fabric with foraged plants, learn skills to improve nature journaling with both pencils and watercolor, and more. All farm camps also get to spend time with the animals on the farm- petting the goats, brushing the horses, holding the chicks, and so much more!
June 12- June 15- Animal Husbandry Camp
Time: 9 am- 2:30 pm
Location: Farm School, Fincastle, VA
Ages: 5-12
Cost: $260
Animal Husbandry Camp is designed for those who want to go beyond the basics of visiting animals on the farm and desire to gain knowledge and hands-on experience with the farm animals. Woodsdale Farm has horses, pigs, cows, sheep, goats, pigs, chickens, ducks, llamas, dogs, and cats. Campers during Animal Husbandry Camp will get a chance to spend time learning and caring for each of them in depth.
June 19-22- Little House on the Big Farm Camp
Time: 9 am- 2:30 pm
Location: Farm School, FIncastle, VA
Ages: 5-12
Cost: $285
Little House on the Big Farm Camp is centered around all things related to the Little House children's book series. The campers will make recipes that are referenced in the Little House books and all activities and farm chores will center around what life would have been for Laura Ingalls Wilder and her family. From collecting eggs to cooking from scratch over a fire, from churning butter to using a washboard to wash clothes, from learning how to sew basic stitches for making clothes to crafting and dancing. Children are encouraged to dress like a pioneer during this camp!
June 26- June 29- Horse Camp
Time: 9 am- 2:30 pm
Location: Farm School, Fincastle, VA
Ages: 7-12
Cost: $290
Horse Camp is designed for those who want to go beyond the basics of brushing the horses on the farm and desire to gain knowledge and hands-on experience with horses. Woodsdale Farm has 11 horses ranging from mature Miniature Horses to young Quarter Horses and a Tennessee Walker. Children at horse camp will get to ride the horses multiple times throughout the week and expand the length of time and distance on the horse as the week progresses and knowledge and skills progress.
July 3- July 6- Farm Traditions Camp
Time: 9 am- 2:30 pm

Farm Traditions Camp is designed for those who want to gain knowledge and experience on the farm with the animals, garden, trout creek, and other introductory farm hands-on experience. Woodsdale Farm has horses, pigs, cows, sheep, goats, pigs, chickens, ducks, llamas, dogs, and cats. Campers during Farm Traditions Camp will get a chance to spend time learning and caring for each of them.
July 10-July 13- Herbalist on the Farm Camp
Time: 9 am- 2:30 pm
Location: Farm School, Fincastle, VA
Ages: 5-12
Cost: $285
Herbalist on the Farm Camp is for those who love using their creative side to make their own traditional remedies for basic ailments and general good health. Children will learn about the basics of using herbs for good health, foraging techniques, plant identification, the importance of knowing what herbs are safe, and get hands on through mixing and blending their own herbs, bug spray, sunburn relief, salves, teas, and more. At the end of the week, they'll bring home their own handmade set of herbal remedies- ready to naturally tackle common colds, bee stings, sunburns, and other minor ailments. All farm camps also get to spend time with the animals on the farm- petting the goats, brushing the horses, holding the chicks, and so much more!
